Flavia from the Ubuntu Women Italian team talked about some of the work they have done Created Ubuntu Women IT because language barriers with our core English-speaking group Made up of women interested in and working in IT and Open Source, some very technical, some more involved with marketing, and others in communication and translations Partnered with Geek Girl Dinners in Milan and Rome, which are in all major cities in Italy Working toward having a mentoring program, have a safe space where they can learn about opportunities Working with women rights / equal rights actives in Italy -- Exciting time for teenagers to get involved, seeing more girls already in IT and in Open Source -- What value do women bring to the project? Is it worthwhile for us to join a male-dominated field to myself and the community?
