The statistics were gathered from the Launchpad Ubuntu Bugs page. You can view the raw data as a text file. More graphs are available in the test area.
Below is an explanation of the terms:
- Open: All unresolved issues in Launchpad that need to be verified and fixed
- New: All issues that have been reported but haven't been yet verified to be a real issue, as opposed to misunderstanding or error on the bug reporter's part
- Unassigned: All issues that have yet to be assigned to a developer or a team in order for it to be fixed
- All: All the issues that have ever been reported - this includes bugs that have been resolved, rejected (as non-issues) etc
- Critical: Issues that have been marked as show-stoppers. These either affect a vast majority of users, and/or should be resolved before the next version of Ubuntu is released
